As part of the Arlington Juneteenth Jubilee, the Levitt is proud to welcome headline music act and R&B powerhouse Ron Artis II and the Truth. A multi-instrumentalist who grew up in Hawaii among an exceptionally musical family, Ron has performed and collaborated with the likes of Mick Fleetwood, Jack Johnson, Jake Shimabukuro, Booker T Jones, Eric Krasno (Soulive, Lettuce) and G Love, playing to audiences around the world. His music is laced with intention, deep conviction, story, and a heart that has truly “been there.” With four studio albums, 60+ songs, 1000s of airline flights, 100,000s of diapers changed, and 15 countries visited, Ron and his family band continue to live by preparation and faith, and are looking forward to inspiring and delighting the Juneteenth audience at the Levitt.

Opening for Ron Artis II and the Truth:

Tyra + Tiara: This Dallas-based duo of twin sisters offers an eclectic sound influenced by classic soul, alternative R&B, and a mix of rock and romantic storytelling. Writing from a place of authenticity and relatability is what drives their creativity; their hope always is to reach the hearts of every listener.

Jazz Super Friends: No doubt about it, you’re gonna groove on this Dallas/Ft. Worth collective of professional musicians, whose performances feature jazz, gospel, and R&B, with an underpinning of Latin rhythms and a pinch of down-home blues.

The Levitt Juneteenth concert is co-hosted by Phi Beta Sigma as part of the Arlington Juneteenth Jubilee, a three-day celebration of live music and poetry readings, dancing, shopping, food trucks, and ecumenical service and volunteer opportunities. Screenings of the first episode of the “Echoes from The Hill” docuseries will also take place throughout the weekend. Most of the activities will be held in Downtown Arlington and are free to the public; the event kicks off on Friday, June 17. Visit arlingtontx.gov to learn more.
